Dissecting, or stereo, microscopes are widely used to examine the surface of specimens, such as flowers, insects, microchips - anything small, or for certain tasks like sorting, dissecting, microsurgery, watch-making, and many other types of intricate lab work. New developments in digital photography, combined with imaging software, such as photoshop, allows for stunning, precise photographs to be taken using these microscopes. Certain, newer models of dissecting microscopes come preinstalled with equipment that is able to do this, but it is difficult and expensive to install this equipment on older models or models that do not come pre-equipped with these options. In addition, dissecting microscopes come with a fixed stage, the part of the microscope where a specimen is placed to be examined. This means that in order to take photograph of a specimen, it has to be placed onto the fixed stage, but it is extremely difficult to manually move a specimen around on the microscope's fixed stage in small enough increments to take a series of photographs. This is especially difficult for someone who wants to take 3-dimensional or 4-dimensional photographs. Our 4-Dimensional Dissecting Microscope Stage makes it a cinch to twist and move a specimen, in very small increments, to create perfect 3 or 4-dimensional images of the specimen. The stage rotates and tilts, in miniscule increments, at all angles, allowing for the perfect image to be taken. The specimen is never touched. The process works by taking many images of the same specimen, all from different views, while the specimen is on the stage. These images can then be "stitched" together in a software program, such as photoshop, to create perfect 3 or 4-dimensional images. The stage can be easily attached to any model of dissecting microscope.
